Most mines and aggregate plants lose 15% to 30% of production time due to improper screen installation. A standardized polyurethane screen installation and removal procedure can significantly reduce downtime and extend screen life by more than 40%. Pre-Installation Inspection: This Step is Essential

Before touching the polyurethane screen panel, be sure to use a laser rangefinder to check all dimensions. The screen dimensional tolerance must be within ±1.5 mm, and the flatness indentation must not exceed 0.3 mm/m². If necessary, sand or shims should be used. Ignoring this step will quickly cause uneven stress on the screen, potentially leading to screen damage in a short period.

Choosing the Right Polyurethane Screen Installation Method

The following are the main installation methods for polyurethane screens currently used in the industry. Choosing the right method can significantly improve efficiency: Tension-type screens are best suited for high-frequency screening, using a hydraulic system of 0.8–1.2 MPa; Embedded screens are suitable for wet screening, offering excellent sealing. The dovetail groove angle must be 55° ±1°, with a 0.5mm thermal expansion gap. Bolt spacing is 150mm at the feed end and 200mm at the discharge end, using a staggered center-to-end tightening method; Bolted installation is suitable for corrosive environments, requiring the use of corrosion-resistant fasteners for easy and quick screen plate replacement.

Shortcut to Polyurethane Screen Disassembly

Modular polyurethane screens represent a breakthrough in the industry. Disassembly does not require removing the entire screen surface; only worn modules need to be removed. Drilling is unnecessary and should not be done during disassembly, as it may damage the internal reinforcing steel. When fixing the screen, a "center-spoke" positioning method can be used: first fix the center point, then unfold and fix it along the 45° diagonal. This can prevent premature cracking caused by uneven stress.

A standardized polyurethane screen installation and disassembly process can achieve twice the result with half the effort, reducing machine downtime. By using the correct methods and adopting a modular design to manufacture polyurethane screens, your overall work and maintenance efficiency will be greatly improved.
