Steel screens require monthly screen plate replacements, while polyurethane rotary cylinder screens only need annual replacements, a much less frequent change compared to steel screens.

Steel rotary cylinder screens handle coarse particles well. However, they are prone to clogging when processing viscous, fine, or abrasive materials. Polyurethane rotary cylinder screens solve this problem precisely; their flexibility allows particles to pass through the screen openings effectively, reducing clogging. In coal washing alone, reports indicate that polyurethane rotary cylinder screens achieve a 10-15% higher recovery rate than steel rotary cylinder screens.

Hardness range: 80A–95A Shore A; Aperture: 0.5mm–100mm; Cylinder diameter: 1200mm–3000mm; Cylinder length: 1000mm–6000mm; Tensile strength: ≥22 MPa; Temperature range: -30°C to 80°C. For heavy mineral washing, it is recommended to choose cylinders with a hardness of 90A+ and added silicon carbide. The addition of silicon carbide effectively resists wear, thereby extending the screen life. For washing sticky coal powder, PTFE-coated anti-stick cylinders are a good choice.

Practical Performance of Polyurethane Rotary Cylinder Screens in Applications
In iron ore plants, polyurethane rotary cylinder screens operating at 85% capacity consume 20% less energy than steel rotary cylinder screens of the same specifications. They also exhibit less vibration, lower noise, and lower maintenance costs compared to steel rotary cylinder screens. Polyurethane drum screens feature a modular design, meaning that even if damaged, repairs can be performed only on the worn parts, without removing the entire drum.
Heavy-duty washing processes have extremely stringent requirements, making polyurethane drum filters an essential and wise choice for handling these processes.
